I was born in South Eastern Louisiana and have been in love with the outdoors all of my life. I started fishing at a very young age but did not start hunting until my high school years. My family moved to Texas when I was young and since then my outdoor adventures have been a blend of wing shooting, big game hunting, Texas lakes fishing, and the occasional coastal fishing trip. I am the father of two young girls and happily married to a woman who has made many of my dreams come true. The older my children get, the more we seem to enjoy our time together in the outdoors.
I enjoy spending my time on the water chasing a variety of species depending on who is in the boat with me and what the circumstances are. When I take my kids fishing we usually chase the more plentiful species such as crappie, catfish, or white bass, but I am also an avid bass tournament angler. I dedicate a large part of my spring and summer to chasing largemouth bass and the illusive tournament check. When September first rolls around, I undergo a transition from obsessed angler to diligent hunter. I cherish opening day in the dove fields and dream endlessly of archery season’s opening morning. Of course, any time of the year is a good time for a wild pig or an exotic archery hunt. I typically hunt deer, turkey, and pigs with my bow the entire season but have been known to break out the rifle for an occasional hunt. I have been selected for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Alligator hunts three times and have harvested 2 alligators up to 8 foot. Hunting and fishing are deep rooted passions of mine and I participate as often as possible.
Not only do I include my children in my fishing activities, I also include them in my hunting endeavors. I have been taking my girls hunting and fishing with me for many years and they have developed a love and respect for the outdoors that I am very proud of. My oldest daughter is nine years old and a crack shot with her .243 rifle. She is anxiously awaiting her first harvest. My family and I live on a small six acre place in North East Texas where we keep our horses and other pets. My wife and kids compete in various horse disciplines and we trail ride together as a family. Life is rarely dull around our house.
